MAFC is keen to buy fresh fruits and vegetables from local growers and businesses that subscribe to GAP/SALM to supply safe, fresh produce to retailers, wholesalers and foodservice operators nationwide and overseas.

What is Contract Farming?
Contract farming is when a farmer agrees to produce a crop which is chosen by MAFC on the farmer’s land and that he will deliver to MAFC the contractual quantity at a mutually agreed price.

Unlike normal contract farming model, MAFC’s contract farming initiatives include extension of services involving:

Crop technology and knowledge transfer.
Training and field visits.
Provision of seeds/seedlings to secure the right crops and types.
Assistance to obtain SALM certification.
Assistance to obtain loans and prompt settlement.
